Aneiry Batista is a public and government affairs professional with more than 20 years of experience working on policy, legislation, and community initiatives at the city, state, and federal levels. Born in Santiago, Dominican Republic, and a graduate of Lehman College (CUNY), she began her career in public service in 2003 and has built a reputation for strong leadership, clear direction, and a deep commitment to the communities she serves.

Since 2017, Batista has served as Chief of Staff to Congressman Adriano Espaillat, where she manages teams in both the district and Washington, D.C., and oversees the Congressman’s legislative, communications, and constituent service priorities. Her work has helped secure more than $100 million in federal funding for economic development and disaster recovery efforts across the Caribbean Basin. She works closely with government officials, agencies, labor partners, nonprofit organizations, and community groups to address key issues and move policy forward.

Before her current position, Batista held Chief of Staff roles in the New York State Senate and New York State Assembly. In these roles, she supervised daily operations, guided legislative discussions, and led public and community outreach efforts. Over the course of her career, she has helped advance more than 50 pieces of legislation—many of which became law—and has contributed to important local and national political campaigns.

Batista’s work centers on improving opportunities for working families and immigrant communities. Her focus areas include housing, workforce development, youth programs, public safety, economic advancement, and community services. Through her experience and dedication, she continues to play a key role in shaping policy and strengthening representation for diverse communities.

Yisbell Lucia Marrero is an Associate at BATISTA Group, where she supports client strategy, policy research, and stakeholder engagement across housing, healthcare, mobility, and community-focused initiatives. She assists with legislative tracking, briefings, and cross-agency coordination to help clients navigate New York’s government and regulatory landscape.

Prior to joining BATISTA Group, Marrero served as Director of Operations for Congressman Adriano Espaillat, managing workflow, scheduling, and strategic coordination for a multi-office team across New York City and Washington, D.C. She oversaw more than 500 annual engagements, including federal agency meetings, community events, and policy briefings.

Her background also includes roles at School in the Square—where she oversaw a food pantry serving 200 families and supported 800 households with social services—and as Field Manager for Carmen De La Rosa’s NYC Council campaign.

Marrero’s international experience includes work at the Permanent Mission of the Dominican Republic to the United Nations and at the Dominican Mission to the FAO in Rome, where she contributed to policy discussions on human rights, peace and security, global food systems, and agricultural development.

She holds an M.A. in Latin American & Caribbean Studies from NYU (magna cum laude) and a B.A. from Trinity College, where she received the Posse Scholarship, APSA Fellowship, Hispanic Scholarship Fund Award, Dominican Day Parade Scholar Award, and recognition as an Honors Thesis Writer for her research on women’s empowerment in the Dominican Republic.
